Regular sports massage, including stretching, helps to ensure the health and well being of the athlete and to increase his or her athletic performance. It speeds recovery time from intense workouts, decreases pain brought on by overtraining, decreases the potential for injury, and facilitates healing of soft tissue injuries. It creates greater flexibility and range of motion, resulting in more fluid movement and more efficient, effortless use of the muscles. The end result is both increased energy and increased performance potential.

Be advised that it is best to schedule a massage no closer than 48 hours before a race or tournament. The reason is that the massage acts as a type of passive exercise for your muscles, and you don’t want to risk any post-massage soreness before the big event.
